🎻 Artist Bio – Peter Asp

Violinist Peter Asp began his musical journey at the age of six, and by twelve was already immersed in chamber music courses and masterclasses across Sweden. He went on to perform with the Swedish Youth Chamber Orchestra before graduating with distinction from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, completing his Master’s in Chamber Music under Terje Moe Hansen and Solve Sigerland.

Peter’s career has taken him to stages across Europe, Asia, and the Americas—from Oslo’s National Theater to Rosario in Argentina, Morelia in Mexico, and Amman in Jordan. He has appeared at leading festivals including Båstad (Sweden), Glasperlenspiel (Estonia), and the International Spring Orchestra Festival (Malta), and collaborated with celebrated artists such as Idil Biret, Sefika Kutluer, and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard.

As a recitalist, Peter has performed in Barcelona, London, Munich, Vilnius, Lima, and beyond. He has worked with major orchestras including the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Nordica, and Camerata Kleipeda. He served as concertmaster of the Norwegian National Theater Orchestra and later toured worldwide with the European Union Chamber Orchestra.

Alongside his performing career, Peter has been a dedicated teacher. In Barcelona, he built a thriving violin class at the British School, and since moving to Ankara in 2015, he has worked with leading Turkish orchestras while founding Farabi Strings, a youth orchestra and violin school. His recordings include Emil Sjögren’s violin sonatas and Aydin Saygun’s suite for violin and piano with pianist Cem Turkay.
